FILMMAKER BIO

Shawn Greathouse's passion for archery and bowhunting began in 1993 and quickly evolved into a lifelong pursuit. In 1995, he married his wife, Stacey, and together they built a family rooted in the sport. Bowhunting became more than just an activity—it formed the foundation of their shared experiences, creating lasting memories along the way.
In 2005, Shawn harvested a magnificent bighorn sheep, a hunt that became a turning point in his journey. Afterward, he was asked to provide field photos of the ram and the surrounding terrain for a magazine article. It was in that moment that Shawn realized he had been overlooking the bigger picture. While he had plenty of “grip-and-grins,” he had no images of the landscape, the people who accompanied him, or the journey itself. This epiphany shifted his perspective, and from that point forward, Shawn focused not just on the hunt, but on capturing the entire experience—the beauty of the landscape, the relationships built, and the unforgettable moments.
In early 2009, Shawn partnered with fellow bowhunter Andrew Munsell to co-found Hamskea Archery Solutions. Together, they set out to design innovative, high-performance archery products aimed at filling gaps in the market. Hamskea quickly became known for its precision-engineered arrow rests, peep sights, and other essential gear tailored for serious bowhunters aimed at maximizing accuracy. The team rigorously tests each product in the field, pushing them to their limits in challenging environments to ensure they meet the highest standards of durability and reliability. Along the way, they document their journey on film, sharing the excitement of these tests and the stories behind their creations with the archery community.
For Shawn, filmmaking has become more than just capturing impressive shots and testing prototypes in the field. It’s about sharing the stories, the experiences, and the profound beauty of the bowhunting world with others—especially those closest to him. Through his work, Shawn continues to celebrate the deep connection between people, nature, and the sport he loves.
